How to Install Patio Blinds - Installing Blinds Between Glass | Zabitat

Controlling your homes privacy is important and that’s why patio blinds have become very popular in recent years. We see it very common especially for those that have double doors leading to their patio area. Better yet, getting blinds that are in-between the glass panels gives you a bunch of added benefits that traditional door blinds don’t offer.

That’s why we’re going to go through how easy it is to install enclosed blinds on your patio doors by replacing your existing door glass with a glass insert that has blinds in-between the glass. You’re going to love the new look!

1. Remove The Old Glass Insert

First thing you’ll want to do to install your new enclosed blinds is to remove the old glass insert.

First, use a utility knife or a drywall screw to remove the screw hole covers from the interior frame.
Using a screw driver, unscrew the interior frame.
Once all the screws are out, you’ll be able to remove the glass insert from the door. You may want to use a utility knife to cut along the outside edge of the frame where it meets the door (interior and exterior). This cuts away any paint or caulk that might be adhering the frame against the door.

Just like that, you’ve removed your existing glass, making way for your new insert.

2. Add The New Enclosed Blinds Glass Insert

Now that the old glass is gone and out of the way, you can slide the new insert in and get it installed.

Set the new enclosed blinds glass panel into the door cutout opening. Start from the outside of the door.
Align the interior frame up with the new insert from inside the door and snap it into place.
Use a screwdriver to screw the frames together and hold the glass insert in place.
Insert the screw hole covers into the screw holes for a clean polished finish.

Now just wipe down your new glass with a window cleaner and you’re ready to rock and roll.
