Color and design often go hand in hand. The colors that will dominate interior (and exterior) spaces throughout 2019 are going to be both warm and dark. Emerald, hunter, and chalkboard greens will be especially popular. Nightwatch green which is a dark, shadowy green was declared the color of the year. We will also see plenty of bold indigo, jewel tones and dark teal. These dark colors look especially classy when they pop against the soothing background of white walls. You can use the colors in multiple and fun ways like in a fun kitchen backsplash or accent pillows, fabrics and furniture pieces. Contrasting the color of a room’s wall with a separate rooms furniture is a great way to complement a space. There is nothing like paint that can transform a space and bring out the homeowner’s personality.
2. Door/cabinet Inserts
Use of door, cabinet and window inserts are becoming an understandably popular way to enhance a home’s entry way, kitchen, door-partitions and bathrooms. The Privacy glass inserts for exterior doors add a high level of privacy while allowing light to come through. Decorative glass inserts can add a bit of personality and an element of prestige to your home. There are so many different styles of glass. There are so many different styles of glass inserts that they work well with traditional or modern aesthetics. Some options come with blinds between glass for light control. This will be one of the trends that will continue to top interior-design trend lists for many years to come.
3. Mixing Patterns - statement floors/ceilings
Patterns are quite fun and an instant way to inject personality, texture and color into a space. When done properly, mixed patterns can add an element of harmony to the space. Patterns are a wonderful way to keep a space from feeling boring; they add texture and dimension to a space. The key is to coordinate the patterns with a common color scheme or element. Popular patterns that we will see throughout 2019 are botanical and floral prints, stripes or various sizes and fun use of geometric and minimalist shape patterns like an accent pillow with a single blue square. You can go small like the textiles or curtains or you can try out a really bold look like having a statement ceiling or floor.

Moroccan rugs have never gone out of style but now other elements of bohemian style are beginning to echo through design spaces. Use of natural materials like wicker, wool and wood are a way to create a calm and soothing space. They are calming and give rooms a casual and comfortable feel. Bohemian style is great because it does not take itself too serious, it never feels stuffy and it enables the homeowner to inject their personality in various ways through colors, patterns, prints and a balance of natural materials.

Like many trends from the nineties, gold finishes have returned with a vengeance. Gold accents actually complement a variety of styles whether you are trying to create a modern look or something more traditional like a cottage-style kitchen. Brass finishes, when contrasted against bold blue or black cabinets, have an expensive and indulgent feel. You can find this look inside bathrooms and kitchens. 6. Nature Inspiration
Nature has never gone out of style but in the past few years it has really gained steam. We see this trend in furniture, art, accent pieces and the choice of colors. Plant prints, leaf prints, florals and botanicals will be common patterns that you see. Likewise, people are looking at how tropical locations are designing their spaces. Rich dark woods contrasted against white walls, tropical prints and plants in every room create a relaxing and calming style that is simple yet feels expensive.
